Welcome to The Sieve

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to the deeper layers of things... not just what people do, but why. Not just how life looks on the surface, but how it really feels to live it ... the questions we wrestle with, the choices we make, the values that quietly steer the ship. These questions drew me to study Sociology at university and still influence the books I read, the podcasts I listen to, the conversations I have with friends to this day.

Over the years, that curiosity has shaped almost everything I do, from building a life with my family at Fossoway Stables, to raising children, growing food, running a business, and now... launching The Sieve.

This podcast is, in many ways, feels like the natural next step for me. A space to slow down and gently sift through the noise of modern life and to keep only what feels meaningful.

WHERE IT BEGAN

The idea for The Sieve began to form in the middle of real life while making dinner, walking the dog, or driving the kids to school and it grew out of a longing for more honest conversations.

I wanted to hear from people not just about their successes, but about the values behind the scenes, the deeper truths, the moments they felt lost, and how they found their way again.

In early 2023, my personal life shifted quite profoundly when my marriage came to an end. It was a tender, difficult season, and one that invited me to stop and reflect, to take stock of how far I’d moved from what was true for me and to ask ... what now?

What helped me most in that time were three simple words ... Nurture, Harmony, Sustainability ... the values we’d chosen as a family when we first moved to Fossoway in 2011. Over the years, they had shaped our business decisions, our home life, even our pace. And now, they were gently guiding me back to myself.

That moment of realignment reminded me that values aren’t just abstract words. They’re anchors, they’re light and they help us find our footing when life feels unsteady.

And so, I decided to create a space to explore just that ... what people value, and how those values shape the way they live.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM The Sieve

This podcast isn’t about polished stories or five-step plans. It’s about real people, real decisions, and real lives. I’ll be sitting down with artists, entrepreneurs, musicians, growers, activists, makers, parents ... anyone who is living with intention, curiosity, or courage and asking:

  • What are the values that guide you?

  • How do you know when you’re living in alignment?

  • What happens when life knocks you off course?

  • How do you come back to yourself?

Each episode will be an unhurried, reflective conversation and full of those golden threads that connect us as humans. It’s a space to pause, reflect, to feel a little less alone in the questions you’re asking of your own life.

A PERSONAL INVITATION

Whether you’re in a season of transition, searching for a slower rhythm, or just curious about how others make sense of this messy, beautiful life I’d love you to join me.

I'm so excited about the quality of the conversations I'm soon to be sharing with you and can't quite believe the calliber of guests I've been able to secure ... a little reminder to just reach out and ask.

The trailer drops on 5th June 2025 and I'll share a new episode every Thursday thereafter. I'll share every episode on the website and accross our social media channels but once our podcast channels are live, you can subscribe to them too so that you never miss an episode.

The Sieve is for anyone who wants to live with more intention. To stop skimming across the top of life and go just a little deeper.

Thank you for being here at the beginning ...I’m so glad you are.

With love

Karen xx
