The Potting Shed Farm Shop, is exactly that ... our little offering of freshly grown vegetables from our Market Garden available to buy, along with sourdough loaves, hot drinks, pastries, soup sacks, and home baking - all available from our little Potting Shed adjacent to the carpark at the front of the property on the days we open this to the public. There are dairy and gluten free options available too to suit most diets and preferences.

We have outside seating, a fire pit and a basket of blankets available to wrap yourself in should you fancy sitting for a while, regardless of the weather. Dogs are very welcome to come and visit too - we just ask that they are kept on a lead when they do as we have cats, free-range hens and lots of wildlife who share the space too.

The Potting Shed is still trying to find it's identity and a way in which it works in terms of being able to stock it well and provide a useful service to the community but not create wastage which goes against what we're trying to create here at Fossoway Stables.

 

We opened in September of 2024 as a little experiment to see whether this was something that would be welcome to the local community and we were delighted with how it was received.​ From April 2025 we started a self-serve honesty system in The Potting Shed and the facility to order in advance for collection to ensure you got what you were after but we found this didn't have quite the same heart or touch. So, until we can run our little cafe full-time in the way that we'd like, we decided to use the Potting Shed as a hub for people collecting their pre-ordered veg boxes and soup sacks etc and just open for the wider community for planned pop-up events.
